Last Saturday night we celebrated Hillbilly DJ Jeff’s birthday at The Redwood with the Dave and Deke Combo and Lucky Tubb. Jeff sure knows how to throw a party, and this was no exception! He had the place packed early in the night for Lucky Tubb. Lucky is Earnest’s grandson, and he always puts on a great show. As you can guess, he does Earnest Tubb covers, and he does them well. His fiddle player is amazing. The headliners were none other than the infamous Dave and Deke Combo. They are possibly the best band ever. At least the most comical band ever. This show started off with a bang: an intro eafing song and hillbilly’s with pompadours. They also had a corn cob microphone. What fun! In the middle of the set they sang “Happy Birthday” to Jeff and Alana presented him with a cake. Then they brought him on stage to receive 43 spankings from an audience participant (Alana). Everyone was in a celebratory mood and enjoyed the cake and booze. Happy Birthday to Jeff!
It’s finally here! My 100 followers giveaway. No more waiting! Thanks to all of my readers, and especially the 100 followers that made this event possible.

This past weekend was the Rhythm Rocker Weekender in Long Beach CA.
We headed down there on Thursday night about 6:00pm. Surprisingly, there was no traffic at all, so we made it in about an hour. We checked into our room at the Seaport Marina, which was a real disappointment. Out of all of the rooms we saw that weekend, ours was the worst for sure. It was a real dump. It was filthy, especially the carpet, headboard, walls and bathroom tile. The closet smelled like BO too. The furniture in our room was horrible, 1980s pressboard, and it was all falling apart. The bed was hard as a rock and slanted toward the ground at the foot. The sheets were horribly ruff too. One of the chairs was made of wicker, and had a huge hole through the back. Also, there was no bath tub, just a standing shower. I could go on and on here, it was just…icky.
I'm off! I am leaving now to go to Rhythm Rocker Weekender in Long Beach. Would you believe that I am still not packed? Yep, it is true! My clothes are in a pile.....on the floor. I just pulled them out of the closet and....they stayed there. I don't know that is wrong with me! I am going to throw them in the suitcase and iron them when I get there. Just don't expect too much from me this weekend. :)
Here is the latest on Rhythm Rocker Weekender. This was emailed to people on the mailing list, so in case you are not on the mailing list, here it is:

I got home last night to find a cute little brown cardboard box in the mail. It was for Miss Dollie DeVille The Rockabilly Socialite…..Hey……that’s me! Yippy! I love getting surprises in the mail. Do you know what it was? Can you guess? It was the donated items for my giveaway! They arrived safely from their journey from Glendale California. I was so excited when I opened the little box and saw how many magnificent treasures were in there! They were packaged safely with peanuts and in clear bags sealed with beautiful gold stickers. There are four items, each in romantic wine colored boxes with gold floral embossing. Inside one of those little boxes was a rich wine colored velvet drawstring bag, and inside that bag was…….. gold! Really! What could this be? Do you have any idea yet? Well, I still have to get 6 more followers before you can find out. But in the mean time you can keep guessing what it might be. This is really going to be the best giveaway ever if I do say so myself! The four items combined are valued at $106, and were all donated from my favorite company ever! These products have been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Allure, and InStyle, just to name a few. I am so happy to be able to share them with my readers thanks to the extreme generosity of the company’s owner Gabriela Hernandez.
I have you sooooo many hints here…..do you know what it is now?
Last Friday night we went to see Big Sandy at The Redwood in downtown LA. Sadly, I couldn't take any pictures because my camera batteries were dead. Poop. I am terrible blogger. But, I can still tell you about it! Just use your imagination. The Redwood is a dark little bar, and it was already packed by the time I got there at 9:30pm. They brought in a dancefloor for the night, and it was already being used. The openers for the night were The SideWynders with Captain Jeffrey on lap steel/washboard. The crowd always loves them and their western jazz music. They really got the crowd warmed up for the main event......the big man himself.......BIG SANDY! Yippy! What more can I say about Big Sandy that I have not said before? Maybe it was the beer, maybe it was the cute blonde Swedish girl I had to dance with.......but this might have been the best Friday night show ever! Everyone was having such a good time. The drinks were flowing, and when they were gone, we were crushing the beer cans with our girlish bare hands! The dancers were switching off partners left and right, when they could find room on the dancefloor, anyway. The girls and I were hooping and hollering as usual, and making a spectacle as always. Big Sandy did a few different songs this time, which keeps it interesting, because everyone already knows and loves all of his songs anyway. He did a ladies choice slow dance, and Sara asked me to dance even though she had her pick of all the guys there. How could I say no? She was one wicked slow dancer too. I definitely got the best dance of the night! he he he. Robert recognized our little Swedish Sara from overseas, and he gave her a shout-out during the set. What a sweet guy he is. He did a long set, and played until the lights came on and they kicked us out. I can't wait to see him again next weekend at Rhythm Rocker! See ya all there!
Real Gone Productions and Rarin’ To Go present The Rhythm Rocker Weekender this October 15th, 16th, and 17th. This weekender is taking place at the Seaport Marina Hotel in Long Beach California. This event has been actively promoted since the beginning of this year, with tons of flyers being passed around at Viva Las Vegas, yet many people still do not know about it. It really is a shame, because it is shaping up to be quite a fun event. Long Beach is a great place to hold a weekender. The weather is nice, the hotels are cheap, and there are plenty of vintage/antique shops and restaurants near by. Most of the music is taking place at night, leaving your afternoons free to lounge by the pool, go to the beach, or visit “retro row” on 4th street. If you don’t know what retro row is, and you will be at this weekender (I know a few of you will be), then you must check out 4th street. Basically, it is the best vintage/antique/mid-mod shopping in all of southern California. Just make sure to bring plenty of money, and plan to spend it! There are tons of great live bands on two stages from all around the world (see flyers below), DJs spinning for the nightly record hops, and vendors. On Saturday afternoon there is a tiki pool party and a car show too!
Remember when I told you that I had something utterly fabulous in the works for my 100 follower giveaway? Well, I didn’t want to give you too much information at that point, because I was afraid that it might not pan out. Let me tell you now, that it is going to come to fruition! This socialite is working her magic to bring you a giveaway that will knock your socks off! I am still keeping the company name under wraps until the big reveal though. But I will tell you, that this is absolutely my favorite company of all time. Their products are the most beautiful, best quality, and oh so luxurious. I stand by their company and their products 100%, and I am sooooo happy to be able to share them with my readers. Maybe you have some of their products, maybe you have always wanted to try them, or maybe you have never heard of them. Either way, I want to share them with the world! Unfortunately, only one person can win (I wish it could be me!), but hopefully by the end of the giveaway, you will all share my love for this company. Just hold tight! The giveaway will be very soon, because I am really close to 100 followers, and the company’s donation will be in the mail to me any day now! Good thing too, because I don’t know how long I can keep this big secret in!
In the interim, I would LOVE to hear your guesses on who you think it is. Maybe we can make it a game with clues. He he. But, if you know me well, you may guess it right away! I sing their praises regularly, and give their products as opulent gifts to my girlfriends for holidays. Who could it be???? Let me know what you think!
This upcoming weekend is an action packed one! Have fun deciding which events to go to. Remember, this is the weekend before Rhythm Rocker Weekender, so there are bound to be pre-parties! I have included info below on the official pre-party. This socialite is the queen of pre and post parties! I will have a post tomorrow about the Rhythm Rocker Weekend and another pre and post party. See ya all there!
My closet is small too, so I feel TartDeco's pain. Luckily, her pain is our gain! She is hosting a tiny vintage closet giveaway. All you do is send her a picture of your tiny vintage closet (mine is to come), or find one online (with credits), send her the link in a comment, and you are entered to win her giveaway......which is a boatful of vintage closet accessories! FUN! Check out the link below for more info:
This past Sunday we went to Brunch Americana at the Redwood to see Lisa and her Kin and Chris “Sugarballs” Sprague and his 18 Wheelers. If you listen to KCSN (the Cal State Northridge station), they had a special truck driving music hour this past Saturday. They played a few of their songs, and promoted the show at the Redwood. I have heard Lisa and her Kin many times on KCSN's "The Twang Show", but have never seen them in person. Lisa and her Kin were really fun in person, so I am glad I finally got to see them live. They are a tight band, as they should be, because they really are “kin”. They got a few couples out on the dance floor, and I think the crowd enjoyed them. My favorite part was when they brought up Dave “Pappy” Stuckey to sing a duet with Lisa, “Hog Tied Over You”. This is my favorite song that they do, so I was happy to hear it. The headliners for the evening were none other than Chris “Sugarballs” Sprague and His 18 Wheelers, and they pulled out all the stops for this show. The band dressed in vintage 1970s attire, with matching mustaches. No, really! Sugarballs wore a tight bedazzled denim bellbottom jumpsuit, chest hair on display and everything! Zack wore tight HbarC Western Wear of CA bellbottoms with a floral button up. Bobby wore cream polyester bellbottoms with a matching button up top. Dave Berzansky wore a floral western top and the best mustache on stage. Dave Stuckey wore some very nice light blue polyester bellbottoms, too bad you couldn’t see them behind the drums! They were a hoot. They all looked like a cross between The Village People and pedophiles. It was amazing and the crowd loved it! I sure hope they pull that stunt again! Oh yeah, the music. It was great as always! They did a really long set, and dedicated my fav to me, Johnny Horton’s “I’m Comin’ Home”. Thanks for putting on another great show!
